Alysa Sanford farms in northern Jackson County, raising corn, soybeans, wheat, hay, pumpkins, laying hens and turkeys. She uses social media to both market farm products and connect with customers about how their food is produced.
Tapping her background in agriscience and nutrition education, Sanford has led Jackson County Farm Bureau’s Promotion & Education programming for years, managing volunteers and reaching thousands of local students through annual Project RED (Rural Education Day) events.
Her outreach activities also include guesting on a local radio show to help inform consumers about local agriculture.
Sanford and her husband Greg live near Rives Junction with their five children: Adalyn, Haven, Judson, Truman and Lochlan.
