Stephanie Schafer of Clinton County is the District 5 Director on the Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) Board of Directors. She also serves on the board's executive committee.
Alongside her husband Leroy and their three children, Schafer runs a 450-acre dairy farm and custom hay baling operation near Westphalia. A 1992 graduate of Pewamo-Westphalia High School, Schafer went on to study animal science at Michigan State University.
For the Clinton County Farm Bureau, Schafer has served as a board member, Young Farmer chair, membership co-chair and been involved with the scholarship committee. She's also served on MFB's state-level Young Farmer and policy development committees; chaired the MFB State Study Committee in 2011; and was named the organization's 2011 Volunteer of the Year.
Outside of Farm Bureau, Schafer has been involved with 4-H, where she was a leader for more than 10 years. She's served as a Dallas Township trustee, chair of Pewamo-Westphalia Community Foundation, on the Michigan Milk Producers Resolution Committee and, in 2005, was runner-up for Michigan Milk Producers' Outstanding Young Dairy Cooperator award.
She’s also served as the chair of the Pewamo-Westphalia Community Foundation and on the Michigan Milk Producers’ Association resolution committee.
