Why donate?

Agriculture is a part of our everyday lives — from the food we eat to the fiber we wear. Yet many consumers are disconnected from farms and farmers. Just 20 percent of kindergarten through third graders and 35 percent of fourth through sixth graders receive daily science education. Two thirds of Michigan citizens haven’t been on a farm in the last seven years. These statistics heighten the importance of consumer education and agriculture awareness.

With agriculture being Michigan’s second-largest economic sector, it’s of utmost importance that consumers understand how agriculture impacts their daily lives. With your support, we will continue to expand and develop programs in the state of Michigan to build lasting connections between farmers and the broader community. In addition, your contribution supports leadership development opportunities for young agriculturalists and hunger relief efforts in Michigan.

Donations to the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture are deductible as charitable contributions, to the extent provided by law.
