Applications are due Oct. 1 for the Great Lakes Leadership Academy’s (GLLA) 2025 Emerging Leader Program (ELP). GLLA helps develop and inspire exceptional leaders in natural resource, agricultural, business, community development, non-profit, and governmental sectors to lead for the common good of Michigan and beyond.
Over the span of six months, the program brings together diverse individuals and equips them with the necessary skills to lead across differences, build trusting relationships and demonstrate the emotional strength and resilience to thrive in both conflict and change.
“ELP is the shorter of the two Great Lakes Leadership Academy programs,” said Sarah Black, who helps coordinate MFB’s involvement. “It’s meant more for the mid-level, emerging leader, and I think some of our members might find it appealing and less of a time commitment than the more intense Leadership Advancement Program.”
Michigan Farm Bureau is a GLLS partner, contributing financial support and serving on its advisory board.
Our focus had generally been on the longer, more extensive Leadership Advancement Program (LAP), but we have also had several staff and members participate in ELP, which is a shorter program.
Please help us distributing the Emerging Leader Program attached flyer to members, contacts or groups within your network and to individuals who may be ideal candidates.
Participants will take part in three-day sessions in April, July and October. Tuition is $3,500; some scholarship support is available through a GLLA endowment to which Farm Bureau has been a substantial contributor.
