According to the U.S. DOT, holidays are often the deadliest days to be behind the wheel. Holidays have a higher risk because more drivers are under the influence of alcohol and cause fatal crashes. 

 1) Thanksgiving Day

  • 417 Fatalities in 2019
  • 517 Average annual fatalities since 1990

2) Independence Day

  • 515 Fatalities in 2019
  • 482 Average annual fatalities since 1990

3) Labor Day

  • 451 Fatalities in 2019
  • 476 Average annual fatalities since 1990

 

4) Memorial Day

  • 465 Fatalities in 2019
  • 464 Average annual fatalities since 1990

5) New Years Day

  • 437 Fatalities in 2019
  • 381 Average annual fatalities since 1990

6) Christmas Day
