Agent Jonathan Hop of Holland, Michigan was honored with the Farm Bureau Insurance Distinguished Sales Award (DSA) for outstanding sales and service across 2023 at the Farm Bureau Insurance Multi-Line Marketing Convention held in February of 2024 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Building on a tradition of accomplishment after taking over The Hop Agency and continuing to work alongside long-time agent, Mark Hop, this is Jonathan’s first DSA award leading the agency, and the Hop Agency’s seventh consecutive year capturing the statewide honor (tenth overall).
The DSA is the top sales honor given each year and represents the highest performance achievement for an individual in the company. It is presented to one statewide winner for exceptional personal accomplishments and contribution to the success of the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.
Though the agency’s history of earning the statewide DSA dates back to 2006 (also winning in 2008, 2009, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022), the elder Hop identified the growing role his son Jonathan played in the business as a key to continued success following the agency’s most recent DSA honors. This experience served Jonathan well as he was able to transition into his new role while maintaining the high standard illustrated by the agency’s history with the statewide DSA recognition.
This year the award was presented by Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Statewide Sales Director, Lucas Wey, who noted, ”2023 was an incredible year for this agent,” while noting Jonathan’s dedication in overcoming the inherent challenges that come with taking over an agency and maintaining such a high standard for production throughout the transition. “Fulfilling the tremendous legacy of service the Hop Agency has cultivated in Holland, Michigan is no small task.”
“I’d like to thank the Western Region Managing Partners for their leadership along the way, as well as all of the other great agents in this room,” said Jonathan Hop upon receiving the award. The agent credited the hard work and support of his family and agency staff, as well as the loyalty of the clients the Agency is privileged to work with everyday. He also made a special note of the role his Farm Bureau Insurance mentors and colleagues had in his transition. “It's an honor to always have people willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear when trying to manuever through the day-to-day problems that might arise.”
