Otsego County Farm Bureau celebrates National Agriculture Week — March 21-27 this year — in part by presenting a gift basket of Michigan-made products to the first local baby born that week. This year’s Ag Week Baby was Kaia Finney, born March 22 at Munson/Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.
Weighing in at 6 pounds 10 ounces, Kaia is the daughter of Cameron and Nile Finney — and she has an older sister waiting at home for her!
Delivering this year’s gift basket was Promotion & Education Chair Cyn Prusakiewicz.
“We look for various ways to highlight the importance of agriculture throughout the year,” Prusakiewicz said. “Families are an important part of farm life, so for several years now we’ve given a gift basket to a young family as part of our annual Ag Week celebration.”
Inside the basket were several farm-related items, including Indian Summer apple and cherry juices, Made Rite potato chips, Hilbert’s Honey, Gerber baby foods, a Sayklly’s Yooper Bar and a potted Christmas tree donated by Messiah’s Tree Farm.
