Farmers looking for a crash course in farm succession are encouraged to attend Michigan Farm Bureau’s 2024 Take Root Succession Planning Conference, Feb. 27 at MSU’s Henry Center. This statewide conference only happens every other year, so don’t miss out!
Agenda highlights include keynote speaker Jolene Brown, a nationally-known succession planning advisor and beloved farm-community motivator.
There’ll be a pack of Michigan-based estate-planning lawyers — six of them! — each from different firms and specializing in different issues.
Representatives from Greenstone Farm Credit Services and Farm Bureau Insurance will also be on site, as will representatives from a farm-business accounting firm, a financial planning firm and a Medicare expert.
Attendees will be able to pick the speakers and topics of their choice to drill down into the specific issues most pertinent to your own farm-succession situation.
Breakout sessions will focus on how to form and operate your LLC, and the latest federal Corporate Transparency Act regulations that will affect most farms soon.
This year the conference will be held on Feb. 27 at the MSU Henry Center.
Registration for the 2024 Take Root Conference is $100 per person, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks, all presentation printouts and a complimentary notebook.
Click here to register before the Feb. 9 deadline.
Young Farmers should contact their county Farm Bureau for a 50% scholarship to attend!
