Misty DeBoer has been promoted to the position of operations manager for Great Lakes Ag Labor Services (GLALS), succeeding Laurie Swanson, who resigned from the position in late October.
DeBoer has been with GLALS for three years, most recently as part of its management structure in the assistant operations manager and account manager role.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have such a great team member lead our operations side of the business. Misty brings valuable experience and knowledge to this role from her time with the company to date,” said GLALS General Manager Sarah Black. “In her time with us Misty has garnered positive accolades from both staff and our clients.
DeBoer also served as interim operations manager and has an excellent grasp on all operational responsibilities. GLALS clients know her for her outstanding customer service skills, excellent understanding of H-2A and H-2B visa programs and the company’s mission to serve farmers.
GLALS is Michigan Farm Bureau’s newest affiliate company and has seen steady growth since its launch in 2015, when it first began securing agricultural workers through the H-2A visa program. GLALS has grown into the largest H-2A contract filer in Michigan.
