Agent Jonathan Hop of Holland, Michigan was honored with the Farm Bureau Insurance Distinguished Sales Award (DSA) for outstanding sales and service across 2024 at the Farm Bureau Insurance Multi-Line Marketing Convention held in in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Further building on a tradition of accomplishment, this is Jonathan’s second DSA award leading the agency, and the Hop Agency’s eighth consecutive year capturing the statewide honor (eleventh overall).
The DSA is the top sales honor given each year and represents the highest performance achievement for an individual in the company. It is presented to one statewide winner for exceptional personal accomplishments and contribution to the success of the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.
While presenting the award Don Simon, Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan CEO, stated, "2024 was another outstanding year for Jonathan Hop." Simon outlined Hop’s distinctions and honors including Praesidium Club, Centennial Club, Circle of Champions, Executive Club, Commercia Century Club, Harvester's Club, President's Council, and the Director's Cup team. He concluded, “Jonathan continues to provide exemplary insurance service in the Holland area. Simply put, he had another sensational year.”
Hop thanked his fellow agents, leadership, support staff and regional partners as well as his family and office staff while accepting the award. "I may be biased, but I think they are the best team in the state," he said of his Hop Agency colleagues. Hop also thanked those entrusting him with their protection needs stating, "It wouldn't be an agency without our amazing clients who trust us each and every day to take care of them the best we can."
The agency’s history of earning the statewide DSA dates back to 2006 under the guidance of former agent Mark Hop, who identified the growing role his son Jonathan played in the business as a key to continued success upon the younger Hop claiming his first DSA leading the agency in 2023 (with wins in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 awarded to the agency in-between).
Citing the role that reflection and gratitude has contributed toward his passion for helping protect those in his community, Hop observed, “In this business and in life, we can never fully predict what will happen. But we must reflect on and remember the small things we are thankful for. Having gratitude means the ability to be thankful and I think that depends on your attitude and perspective in any given situation." Addressing his fellow Farm Bureau Insurance agents, Hop concluded, "Noticing and being grateful for the small things has brought a greater joy in my life. And I hope you choose to do the same."
