Ahead of the state’s primary and general elections, Michigan Farm Bureau’s (MFB) political action committee, AgriPac, has released its 2023-24 vote record. Local Farm Bureau members can review how their state and federal representatives and senators voted on issues important to agriculture and MFB’s member-developed policy.

“The vote record is helpful to members to review how their elected officials voted on legislation Michigan Farm Bureau either supported or opposed,” said Matt Kapp, MFB’s government relations specialist. “It helps them further familiarize themselves with incumbent legislator candidates that are running for reelection or potentially a different office.”

He added, the vote record is one of several tools used by county Farm Bureau candidate evaluation committees to determine which candidates they’ll recommend to receive AgriPac’s Friend of Agriculture endorsement.

“Our local candidate evaluation committees also conduct interviews and review a questionnaire completed by the candidates to gain an understanding of the candidate’s background and agricultural policy knowledge or stances,” Kapp said.
