Jason Scramlin of the The Scramlin Agency in Mendon, Michigan, received the Farm Bureau Insurance Directors’ Award at the company’s annual Multi-Line Marketing Convention held in Grand Rapids this February. The award recognizes a Farm Bureau Insurance agent within their first five years with the company who exemplifies a commitment to professional development, community involvement and a fostering a successful office environment.
While announcing Scramlin as this year’s winner, Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Statewide Sales Director Nick Hurst outlined the qualities the organization looks for in a Directors’ Award nominee. “The winning agent is someone who displays leadership, commits to a sound business plan, actively engages in the community, creates opportunities for others and successfully manages their operation.”
Hurst highlighted the achievements of the The Scramlin Agency as well as the deep history Scramlin shares with the organization and the Michigan agriculture community. "This year's recipient has enjoyed an impressive career so far. In a little over 5 years, (Scramlin has) been a Key Club Member, an All American, and part of the MLSC.” Hurst continued, “(Scramlin) regularly participates in the Agent Charitable Fund, providing a school lunch grant to local schools. This agent runs a proactive office. Additionally (Scramlin) has been active with the Ag community and Michigan Farm Bureau. In fact, his grandmother was the first chairman of the Farm Bureau Women's Community.”
Upon receiving the award, Scramlin credited those that have helped him develop and grow as a Farm Bureau Insurance agent stating, "We are fortunate to have such great agents and leadership. I feel truly blessed."
Hurst concluded, "Jason Scramlin has a heart for service and Farm Bureau. It is difficult to find an agent who better represents Farm Bureau Insurance; someone who was born from the roots of the organization and is carrying out the mission of taking care of the people, farmers, and businesses of this state.”
