About Me

Hello, my name is Angela Shannon

I am proud to work for a local Michigan company who, as a testament to its commitment to our communities, insures the most farms in the state. My dedication to Kalamazoo and the surrounding area runs deep.  I was raised in Plainwell and attended school there and my brothers and parents still reside in Plainwell.  I now enjoy the peace and quiet of the country living in Delton.  I have owned the agency since 1996 and I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon, just another way of saying I have years of experience, I started young and plan to continue helping my clients and future clients for years to come.

My clients and I are truly part of the same communities, and we share more in common than Farm Bureau.  I enjoy golfing, cooking, traveling, fishing, and short track racing.  Many of you may know me from my days when I raced at US 131 Dragway or the years that I crewed for my brother at Kalamazoo Speedway.  Fast cars have always been an enjoyment in my life thanks to my upbringing and that is why I have a passion for insuring collector vehicles with Hagerty Classic Car Insurance as I like protecting the cars that I still love to see at car shows and out and about on the roads.  Collector cars are special and deserve the correct protection from someone who knows the insurance coverages and understands older cars, which just happens to be me.

I am a licensed, multi-line insurance agent, which means I can provide you with auto, home, life, annuities, IRA's, commercial and one of my favorites our farm policy.  With me as your agent, you can make just one phone call, and I'll handle your entire insurance program.

Every day, I work with 450 community-based Farm Bureau agents to protect our neighbors from the risks of everyday life.  Yet, for many Michiganders, one of the biggest challenges isn’t finding the best insurance rates but finding their next meal.  One in every five Michigan children are considered food insecure.

Hunger isn’t some far-off picture on a commercial.  It looks like the kid who plays basketball at the local YMCA, the single mother who struggles to provide for her family, the grandparents whose Social Security check doesn’t make ends meet and the children sitting next to yours at school.  It affects our clients, our friends and our neighbors.  So, I’m standing up and saying, “No more!”

As a member of the Agent Charitable Fund Committee, I’ve made a financial and personal investment to help end hunger in Michigan. To get involved or learn more, visit www.EndHungerInMichigan.org
