Abby Vittore is the new State Young Farmer Committee chair, succeeding Montcalm County’s Lane Grieser.
A fifth-generation farmer, Vittore is the marketing coordinator for Carpenter Farms Greenhouse and their garden center in Adrian, Barrett’s Showplace Gardens & Flower Shop. The Lenawee County Farm Bureau member offers, among other crops, pumpkins, hanging baskets, and bedding plants, having expanded into agritourism in 2008 to diversify business operations.
“I’m really excited about our group of members on the State Young Farmer Committee,” said Vittore, who earned her agribusiness and agronomy degree from Michigan State University in 2016.
“We have a lot of people who have a go-getter attitude, and I am excited to see what as a committee we can do to make our grand ideas happen.”
Previously, Vittore served on her county Farm Bureau board of directors, as well as becoming their Young Farmer chair in 2021. Outside of Farm Bureau, she is involved with her local 4-H, FFA, and, when she finds the time, gardening.
Vittore and husband Ben live near Britton with their daughter, Rosie.
