Almost 60 Sanilac County Farm Bureau members got together March 12 to face off in the highly competitive arenas of cornhole and SOUP!
The event took place at Stone Brothers’ farm shop in Sandusky, with 15 cornhole teams and 10 different soups all brought up for trial.
Milwaukee heated jackets were the prize for winning Sanilac County Farm Bureau’s recent cornhole tournament.
“We really had some professional cornhole players in attendance,” said Darcy Lipskey, president of the Sanilac County Farm Bureau. “Some even brought their own cornhole bags — it was that serious!”
Soups included several chilis, vegetable soups, potato and a classic beef barley. Emily Howard and Marlene Phillips took home Yukon coolers for their winning entries.
The host shop was full of laughter and chatter the likes of which haven’t been seen since in the two years since the pandemic started.
“That was something we’ve really missed, not having the event since 2019,” Lipskey said.
Cornhole winners took home Milwaukee-brand heated jackets and Yeti tumblers for the runners up.
Soup cookoff winners earned Yukon coolers and all went home with treats from Pampered Chef, including spatulas, ladles and spices.
“Overall the event was a great time,” Lipskey said. “I heard many of our people compliment how nice it was to get out and see each other.”
