Know a standout educator who’s hooked their students on agriculture? We want to hear about them!

Because Michigan Farm Bureau recognizes the importance of teaching agriculture education in our local schools, every year we recognize a deserving teacher. Many Michigan educators incorporate agriculture and natural resources into their classroom curriculum. MFB’s Educator of the Year award is a great opportunity for county Farm Bureaus to recognize an educator in their county for their efforts in agriculture education.

County Farm Bureaus should consider nominating teachers who do a great job integrating basic agricultural concepts into their lessons while meeting school curriculum objectives — quality educators who develop their students' problem-solving skills through the analysis of agricultural issues and information through creative teaching techniques or methods.

Any K-12 educator can be nominated, whether they’re an agriscience teacher or a general-education teacher. Information on our past recipients can be found on the application website.

The winner of next year’s Educator of the Year Award will be recognized at MFB’s 2025 Annual Meeting, take home a cash prize to continue their ag education activities, and receive a scholarship to attend the National Ag in the Classroom conference.

Award Nominations are due Feb. 10, 2025. To nominate an educator in your county, complete the nomination form here
