Hillsdale County Farm Bureau’s scholarship program is in its fourth year, and we’re pleased to announce we’ll be awarding two $500 scholarships thanks to tremendous support of our sponsors. Our 2022 scholarship recipients are Jenna Stanton and Connor McArthur.
Jenna Stanton is a senior at Jonesville High School. She participated in Jonesville FFA and Chesterfield Feeders 4-H. She plans to attend Michigan State University this fall to study agribusiness, launching her pursuit of a career in agriculture as a lawyer, lender or appraiser.
Connor McArthur is a senior at Hillsdale Academy. He has been involved in agriculture all his life, participating in the Michigan Junior Hereford Association and the National Junior Hereford Association. This fall he plans to begin an animal science/pre-veterinary program at the University of Findlay (Ohio). He hopes to become a veterinarian and educate young people about agriculture.
New this year, scholarship recipients will receive their first year of membership paid by the county Farm Bureau in hopes to connect them with more agriculture opportunities.
This year’s scholarship committee consists of Kayla Lewis, Amber Kohler, Ron Oates, Chris Brooks and Joe Draper.
Hillsdale’s generous scholarship sponsors include Channel Seed – Jay Williams, Reading Nutrien Ag Solutions and Kohler Strawberry Farm.
