Fifty-four of Michigan’s 83 counties will hold local elections on Aug. 3. Michigan Farm Bureau’s political action committee, AgriPac, encourages Farm Bureau members and all citizens to vote.

“Local millage proposals and other issues are where the real impacts of government are felt,” said Matt Kapp, Michigan Farm Bureau government relations specialist. “While many people overlook these off-year elections, it’s important to have a voice locally and vote after examining the issues thoroughly.

Additionally, the Secretary of State’s office is urging voters to deliver absentee ballots to their local clerk’s office or put them in drop boxes as soon as possible.

"Michigan citizens have a number of options to vote," Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in a recent statement. "Whether it's voting absentee by mail or at their local clerk, drop box, or in person on election day, voters can be confident no matter how they choose to exercise their rights, the process will be safe and secure and their vote will be counted and their voices heard."

The location of the local election clerk's offices and area drop boxes, as well as voter information for applicable elections, can be found at Michigan.gov/Vote. A complete list of counties holding elections is also available online.
