Saginaw County Farm Bureau’s recent Project RED attracted a good deal of local media coverage, with both ABC and Fox affiliates covering the May 9 event near Frankenmuth.
Both Flint’s ABC affiliate, WJRT Channel 12, and Clio-based WEYI Channel 25 sent crews to cover the event. (Click those links to check out their reporting.)
Now y’all already know what a Project RED is. The share-worthy angle here is how they managed to wrangle two TV news crews, which dramatically amplifies the event’s effectiveness by raising the county Farm Bureau’s profile up through the roof.
That’s where your Michigan Farm Bureau staff in Lansing comes in: the hundred or so professionals who work for you and your county Farm Bureau.
Among them is a tall drink of water named Jon Adamy, MFB’s media relations specialist, who helped Saginaw fine-tune its appeal and lure those camera crews to the event. That’s his job. (It was my job from 2012-17 but trust me: Jon’s better at it.)
To request media attention for your county Farm Bureau’s high-profile event, contact Jon at least two weeks ahead of time with the basic details: time, date, location, key components and who will be available on-site for an interview.
