We'll be seeing "RED" this week: That's Project RED (Rural Education Days).
"The 34th annual Project RED (Rural Education Days) will be held April 23, 24, and 25, 2024 at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds. This award winning activity is sponsored by Washtenaw County MSU Extension, Washtenaw Conservation District, Washtenaw County Farm Bureau and the Washtenaw Farm Council, with support and partnership from many agricultural organizations, agribusinesses and individuals including local FFA chapters. It takes more than 300 volunteers to put on this amazing program with the purpose of educating third graders about agriculture and natural resources. Over 2,400 students, teachers and chaperones from all over the county will participate in the Project RED program this year." ~ Nancy Thelen
This week is also National Volunteer Week; which makes it the perfect time to celebrate ALL the volunteers who make our events and activities possible.
On Friday, volunteers and event planners Lynda Horning and Valisa Bristle added the final items to the Project RED "goodie bags" students will take home.
THANK YOU ladies for all you do!
