2024 Scholarship Application

Deadline March 1, 2024

 

Eligibility: For applicants to be eligible for this scholarship they must be: 1. be a member, child of, or under the guardianship of a Mecosta County Farm Bureau member; 2. been accepted to attend a post-secondary institution.

Award: Scholarships shall be no less than $500. Multiple scholarships or scholarships in excess of $500 may be awarded at the discretion of the Mecosta County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

Application Requirements:

  2. Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from their coach, teacher, 4-H leader, or FFA advisor.
  3. Completed application, transcripts and letter of recommendation must be received by March 1, 2024: Farm Bureau, ATTN: Jennifer Marfio, PO Box 63, Remus MI 49340 or email to Jennifer Marfio at [email protected]
  4. Applicant’s ACT or SAT test scores.
  5. Applicants must submit an essay including:
    1. Educational and career goals
    2. The role agriculture has played in your life or the impact it has made.

 

Awarding and Disbursement:

  1. The recipient of the scholarship will be determined by the Mecosta County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
  2. Money will be awarded after the student has completed their first semester of college following the awarding of the scholarship. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher. College transcript must be submitted to county office by January 15, 2025.
