Michigan Farm Bureau High School and Collegiate Specialist Katie Eisenberger will soon begin a new role as the organization’s Young Farmer manager.
Eisenberger will work closely with MFB’s State Young Farmer Committee on programs, conferences and awards. She will also work in the field alongside regional managers to help county Farm Bureaus develop and strengthen their Young Farmer committees.
Prior to coming to MFB five years ago, Eisenberger served as a Farm Bureau Insurance agent, taught high school agriscience and worked as a 4-H agent for MSU Extension.
A member of the Isabella County Farm Bureau, she also brings a wealth of practical farm experience to the position, growing up on a family farm operation.
“Growing up on a dairy farm was more than a lifestyle for me,” Eisenberger said.
“From waiting for the milk check to pay bills to managing school events around milking schedules, to witnessing the challenges of livestock births and sharing late-night dinners on the back porch with a glass of milk — every experience shaped my understanding and appreciation.”
Eisenberger said she feels privileged to serve farm families, help younger members navigate their agricultural journeys and help county Farm Bureaus integrate both youth and Collegiate Farm Bureau members into their activities.
“I'm eager to uphold our commitment to delivering top-notch programs, resources and support to our members,” Eisenberger said.
As chair of MFB's State Young Farmer Committee, Lenawee County Farm Bureau member Abby Vittore is eager to work with Eisenberger in her new role.
“I think I can speak for all of us on the committee when I say we’re happy and excited to see Katie in this role,” Vittore said, adding that her committee relies on MFB staff to execute and implement their vision.
“She’s going to do a fantastic job.”
Eisenberger graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She lives in Shepherd with her husband Jesse and their three children.
