Osceola County Farm Bureau board members have been hard at work being present in the community.
One issue that’s near and dear to the board is 4-H. Informational flyers are being sent to voters to explain the benefits of 4-H for our youth and community. There are a lot of changes coming and voters need to have accurate information to make an informed decision.
The board also sponsored a new pig pen for the Marion fairgrounds.
In addition to reaching out to our members, President Sandy Keller and Regional Manager Bridget Silvernail recently attended an Osceola County Commissioners meeting to speak to the many benefits 4-H brings to the local community.
The past few months have been very busy meeting with legislators, talking policy development, and evaluating candidates. We also awarded three scholarships to future Young Farmers and have been raising our profile in the community through events such as the Marion Fair, Hawkins Horse Pull Chicken BBQ, supplying Farm Crates to local schools, and through new membership outings.
